Whether you need one of our designs from our Etsy Store (https://www.etsy.com/shop/SteelesCreationsEtsy), need a custom 3D design made, or found something cool online (https://www.yeggi.com/) and want it printed, we can do that for you!

We specialize in single and small batch prints in PLA and PLA+ (eco-friendly), PETG (UV resistant) and TPE (flexible) materials in a wide variety of colors.

Please note, we are a family friendly business – there are plenty of adult themed designs out there, but we won’t print those. If you are not sure if we will print a design, just ask. A good rule of thumb is to pretend that the printer is in your living room and your parents or grandparents are coming over for dinner 🙂

Free quotes for custom or printing services are just an email away.

Q How to request a quote for custom 3D printing?

Design means that you have an idea or concept about what you want printed, but you don't have a digital 3D object file (.obj, .stl, etc.). You need the concept to be fleshed out and digitized before it can come to existing in the real world. We are able to offer limited design services for an additional cost. If we are not able to create the files necessary for you, we will help you find someone that can.

Printing means that you already have an acceptable digital version of the 'thing' you want printed. This will generally be either a 3D object file created from a CAD / CAM system, it it may be a stereolithographic file (a .stl file). In this case, we would provide you with a cost to print the file in the material you are interested in.

The best way to know how much something will cost is to drop us an email either here on the 'Crawl', or by sending it to cmdrsolideogloria@gmail.com.

Best regards,

Mark Steele

Q What are the different Filaments used in 3D Printing?

PLA:

Polylactic acid, or polylactide (PLA) is a thermoplastic polyester and is typically made from fermented plant starch such as from corn, cassava, sugarcane or sugar beet pulp.

PLA is easy to print with. It has a lower printing temperature than ABS, and it doesn’t warp as easily. Another benefit of using PLA is that it doesn’t give off an offputting odor during printing (unlike ABS). It’s generally considered an odorless filament, but many have reported smelling sweet candy-like fumes depending on the type of PLA.

Finally, as a biodegradable thermoplastic, PLA is more environmentally friendly than most types of 3D printer filament, being made from annually renewable resources such as corn starch or sugar cane.

PETG

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is the most commonly used plastic in the world. Best known as the polymer used in water bottles, it is also found in clothing fibers and food containers. While “raw” PET is rarely used in 3D printing, its variant PETG is an increasingly popular 3D printer filament.

PETG is often considered a good middle ground between ABS and PLA, the two most commonly used types of 3D printer filament, as it is more flexible and durable than PLA and easier to print than ABS.

PETG is UV resistant which makes it useful for outside applications.

TPE(U)

As the name implies, thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) are essentially plastics with rubber-like qualities, making them extremely flexible and durable. As such, TPE is commonly used to produce automotive parts, household appliances, and medical supplies.

Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is a particular variety of TPE, and is itself a popular 3D printer filament. Compared to generic TPE, TPU is slightly more rigid – making it easier to print. It’s also a little more durable and can better retain its elasticity in the cold.
