For over 30 years, Scott Stellfox has been involved in the life safety business, something he first gained interest in as a child watching the old hit TV show, “Emergency”. His entrepreneurial spirit and desire to help people then fueled his drive into business. Since its humble beginnings in Verona, New Jersey back in 1985, Scott has grown SMS Security Systems into a reputable and impressive operation that is about to embark onto its 30th anniversary.
Scott was an EMT on the Verona Rescue Squad for 17 years, serving 3 of those years as squad captain. He has also served on the board as vice president of the New Jersey Electronic Security Association’s north Jersey chapter. He has taught at the Essex County Police Academy and is president of the Morris County Chapter of the business networking group, BNI.
Scott truly doesn’t know the meaning of the word complacency as he continues to grow SMS into a thriving security alarm company. He has successfully executed five business acquisitions over the past 20 years in order to expand the company’s now broad capabilities. Scott has alarmed and installed cameras in my house, the best system ever, all controlled by an app as well as leak detectors, water main shutoff, keypad doors, etc. Check them out.
